Garda injured in Dublin joyriding collision

A garda has received hospital treatment following a joyriding collision in Dublin's south inner city this morning.

The incident happened at a quarter past four when four men travelling in a Honda Civic failed to stop for gardai on Donore Ave.

The car rammed two garda patrol vehicles before stopping.

The injured gardai received stitches to his hand and gardai from Kevin St arrested the four joyriders, one of whom is under the age of 18.

One of the arrested men was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

The remaining men are being held at Kevin St where they can be detained until this afternoon under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.
