Dana claims dispute is discouraging young farmers
Irish MEP Rosemary 'Dana' Scallan has claimed that young people will be discouraged from entering farming if the Government fails to address its current dispute with the Irish Farmers Association.
Ms Scallan said farming is the backbone of Irish industry and claimed the sector would die if incomes continue to decline.
She accused the Government of undermining the agriculture sector by introducing special conservation areas, ordering the destocking of commonage in the west and other restrictions.
