Protest to cause bus delays

Bus Eireann is warning customers they can expect delays due to the IFA tractor protest.

Almost 300 tractors will enter Dublin on Friday, while delays have already been experienced in Cork and Galway.

Bus Eireann spokesman Cyril McIntyre says delays are unavoidable.

"It is very difficult to give advice on specific problems because of the mobile nature of this protest, but as an example of what we have already suffered the tractorcade took almost an hour to pass through the city centre in Cork yesterday," he said.

"Obviously our city services in that area were thrown into a complete shambles and at one point yesterday on the Dublin-Galway route services even outside the peak times were running up to 45 minutes late."
