Police at man's bedside after Antrim woman's death
Detectives are waiting to interview a man about the death of a woman whose body was found in a house near Larne, Co Antrim today.
The man was rushed to hospital after being found seriously injured in the house.
The dead woman, who is believed to have suffered stab wounds, was discovered in a bedroom at the property in Ballycarry. It is not known how long she had been dead. She was named locally as 23-year-old Nicola Smith, from the Ballycarry area.
A police spokesman said it was too early to say whether the man’s injuries were linked to the woman’s death.
Detectives were called to the house to carry out a forensic examination and a post-mortem examination will begin later.
