A man was found murdered in the centre of a seaside town in the North after a row over a burglary, it emerged today.

A man was found murdered in the centre of a seaside town in the North after a row over a burglary, it emerged today.

Police were called to Portrush, Co Antrim where the 24-year-old victim’s body was discovered.

Detectives are examining CCTV footage of the area as part of their investigation into the murder, which they believe could be linked to a fall-out after a break-in at premises in the area.

The dead man came from the neighbouring town of Coleraine, Co Derry.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is helping police with their inquiries. It is believed no weapons were involved in the attack.

The body of the man was found at Station Square just after 1.45am.

Police are trying to locate a taxi driver who picked up a fare around the same time.
