Abuse was shouted from the public gallery and two people were escorted from a courtroom by police today as a 22-year-old man faced a charge of raping a 16-year-old girl.

Joseph Patrick McIntyre from Great James Street, Derry, was later granted bail but was warned not to drink, interfere with witnesses and to stay away from certain parts of the city.
