Credit card size driving licence could be introduced

A new driving licence, the size of a credit card, could be implemented here in Ireland before the end of the year.

The new format will make it easier for Ireland's 1.9m motorists to carry the licence, as they are now legally required to do so. Failure to carry it could result in a maximum fine of €800 and will incur penalty points by the end of the year.
