500 Irish troops abroad this Christmas

Members of the Irish Defence Forces have been spending their Christmas morning scattered all over the world on peace-keeping missions.

Around 500 members of the forces are currently abroad, the majority of whom are working on the Eritrea-Ethiopia border as part of a United Nations mission.
