McManus calls for Minister to take responsibility
Labour health spokeswoman Liz McManus today called on Minister for Health Michael Martin to take full responsibility on behalf of the Government for the lack of maternity services in Co Cavan which led to the Livingston baby tragedy.
Deputy McManus argued the government clearly does not have a policy on public hospitals across the country.
She says that the Minister for Health needs to put forth a clear strategy for rural hospitals that is affordable.
Deputy McManus says that services such as outreach and ambulances are essential but were not there for Denise Livingston's baby.
