More than £100,000 (€155,000) worth of counterfeit goods destined for the Christmas market have been seized in Belfast, police said last night.

More than £100,000 (€155,000) worth of counterfeit goods destined for the Christmas market have been seized in Belfast, police said last night.

Officers netted more than 1,500 DVDs, videos, Gameboy cartridges and clothing when they swooped on a house on Shore Road in the north of the city.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokeswoman said a man was arrested and later released.

A report is now being prepared by the Director of Public Prosecutions, she added.
