Thousands of fishermen to attend protests
Irish fishermen are preparing to moor their boats at coastal ports this afternoon in protest at proposed fisheries reform by the European Union.
They are protesting about changes to fish quotas, fleet reductions and issues relating to the "Irish Box".
Lorcan O'Cinneide of the Irish Fish Producers Organisation said there will be a huge turnout from around the country.
"I'm expecting that there will be thousands of people in aggregate at the various ports where we're holding these actions, from Greencastle in Donegal right around the coast to Howth in Dublin."
