Parents begin withdrawing from organs inquiry

The parents of children whose organs were retained by Irish hospitals without consent have begun withdrawing documentation from the inquiry set up to investigate the scandal.

The Parents for Justice group submitted 50 withdrawal notices and signatures to the Dunne Inquiry this afternoon, saying they are totally dissatisfied with the conduct of the investigation to date.

The group also said it is furious that the Department of Health published the Dunne Inquiry's interim report on its website before the parents had received a copy, despite assurances that they would see the document before publication.
