Man 'serious' after being knocked down by stolen car

A 26-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital this morning after being knocked down by a stolen car in South Dublin.

The incident happened when the car was driven the wrong way down Davitt Road in Drimnagh at about 1am today.

The car was recovered a short distance away and in a follow up search two suspects were arrested.

They are being questioned by gardai in Sundrive Road under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The victim is being treated in hospital for injuries to his head, upper body and right leg.
