CIF disappointed at extra building costs
The Construction Industry Federation and the Irish Home Builders Association are expressing disapointment at the Government in the revised arrangements for Social and Affordable Housing.
Ciaran Ryan, IHBA Director said: "These measures still require the builder in any event to pay to the Local Authority the equivalent of 20% of the full market value of his site.
"The costs of development lands are so high that this will be a significant burden on housing.''
It comes as a new Planning Act is announced by Minister for the Environment Martin Cullen.
