Defence Forces warn against cutbacks

PDFORRA, the soldiers representative group, is warning it will strenuously oppose moves to initiate further cutbacks in the Defence Forces.

The recommendation for an additional cut in the number serving in the defence forces came from the so-called Three Wisemen - the high ranking civil servants advising Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy.
