Taoiseach says no to tax harmonisation

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has warned the European Union that Ireland will strongly resist any attempts to harmonise corporation tax rates.

Some of the larger member-states, such as France and Germany, have mooted the idea, saying low corporation tax in smaller countries unfairly disadvantages businesses in larger states.
