Construction industry: House prices will rise

The Construction Industry Federation say that today's Budget will mean any additions in the increase in VAT will be noted in house prices.

The Irish Home Builders' Association said €2,000 would now be placed on the price of a €200,000 home and that €2,600 would be added to a €300,000 house.

"Today's announcement will ensure that the Government's take is even greater at the buyer's expense", said Director Ciaran Ryan.
