Police name Co Down murder victim

Police have named the man shot dead in Belfast last night.

He was 38-year-old Mark Apsley from Dixon Park in Ballygowan. The gunman called to the door of the house, and when the victim's 5-year-old son answered, the assailant used the child to lure the man out.

The father of two was then shot dead on the doorstep of his home.

The five-year-old boy had returned to his mother and two-year-old sister, who were in the house at the time, and didn't see the killing.

Police are hunting for the gunman this morning, as a full investigation gets underway.
