Parents urged to withdraw Dunne Inquiry statements

The Parents for Justice Group will urge parents who co-operated with the non-statutory Dunne Inquiry to withdraw their statements later today.

At an extraordinary general meeting later today the group will step up its campaign for a full statutory inquiry into why their children's organs were withheld by hospitals without their knowledge.

Spokesperson for the group, Fionnula O'Reilly, says the Dunne Inquiry is a waste of time and must be abandoned immediately.

"It is not in anybody's interest to continue this process any longer and it is particularly not in the interest of families whose distress has been compounded by the controversy that has beset this enquiry from the beginning," she said.
