Man dies in Mayo traffic accident

A man has been killed in a road accident in Co Mayo.

The man was walking along the Castlebar Road, at Liscottel, about three miles from Swinford, when he was hit by a four-wheel drive vehicle at about 8.30pm last night.

It is understood the man, who was in his fifties, was from the area.
