Limerick: Man shot dead outside home

A 34-year-old man has been shot dead in Limerick.

The man was shot outside his house at Brookhaven Walk, Mill Road, Corbally as he arrived home from work at about 3.05am today.

A number of shots were heard and gardai were called to the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination. A team from the Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist are en route.

An incident room has been set up at Mayorstone Garda Station.
