A jury has been sworn in at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for the trial of a Clondalkin man in connection with heroin valued at €1.5m.

Brian Grendon (aged 25), of Greenfort Drive, has denied he had the heroin at Kenilsforth Road for sale or supply on November 11, 2001, and that it was valued at more than Euro €13,000 on that date.

Judge Patrick McCartan told the jury panel it would hear various names mentioned in the course of the evidence including that of Jeffrey Mitchell from Monasterboice Road, Crumlin.

The hearing of evidence will start tomorrow. The trial is expected to continue for at least four days.
