FG demand report into Christmas bill scandal
Fine Gael has said that the position of the unnamed government minister at the centre of the Aer Rianta Christmas bill scandal is untenable.
An inquiry has been ordered into reports that a senior politician failed to pay for €5,000 worth of spirits and cigars purchased from Aer Rianta in the 1990s.
Fine Gael TD, Denis Naughten, said that the Minister for Transport, Seamus Brennan, must immediately publish any information he has on the matter.
He said: "It's clearly evident that a report has already been brought to the Board of Aer Rianta.
"This should now be published because if these allegations are true, it highlights the fact that a government minister has stolen money from the exchequer and stolen money from the tax payer."
