Man shot in Belfast street attack

A man was shot and seriously wounded in Belfast city centre tonight.

Security sources said the victim was shot in Howard Street

He was taken to hospital for emergency treatment as police moved in to cordon off the area of the attack.

A spokesman for the Royal Victoria Hospital, where the victim was taken, said he was in a stable condition.
