Two treated for gunshot wounds in Dublin

Two men were injured in shootings in Dublin overnight.

Both attacks took place in the Finglas area on the northside of the city shortly after 2am.

At 2.45am, a number of men wearing balaclavas and armed with a sawn-off shot gun entered a house at Casement Close and fired a shot at a 18-year-old man.

They then pursued a 22-year-old male from the house onto Barry Avenue and fired a number of shots at him.

He was removed to The James Connolly Memorial Hospital where he is described as being in a stable condition.

The other man is being treated for an injury to the knee in the Mater Hospital.

No arrests have yet been made.
