Flood: Opening statement of next phase to continue
The Flood Tribunal will continue to hear the opening statement of the next phase in it’s investigation today.
This stage of the Tribunal is attempting to establish the beneficial owners of the Jackson Way lands at Carrickmines in South Co Dublin.
In his opening statement yesterday John Gallagher, senior counsel, told Justice Flood that 600 files had been received in relation to this stage of the inquiry. Almost 8400 orders of inquiry were made and the evidence about to come before the Tribunal would be "technical, turgid, hard to follow and repetitive at times".
The opening statement is expected to last for two days, and John Gallagher is expected to reveal more information about the re-zoning of land around the Jackson Way area.
Frank Dunlop, who is central to this stage of the inquiry, is expected to appear in two weeks time.
