Justice Minister Michael McDowell has held talks with representatives of the Catholic hierarchy on the issue of clerical child sex abuse.

The Archbishop of Armagh, Sean Brady, the Bishop of Kerry, Bill Murphy, and the auxiliary Bishop of Dublin, Eamonn Walsh, all attended the talks.

Minister McDowell has said he hopes to bring proposals to Government soon on the issue of clerical child sex abuse.
