Gardaí investigate road accidents
Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run accident this morning.
The incident happened at 1.30am on Prussia Street in the city. A male pedestrian in his late 40s was struck by a motorbike that later fled the scene.
The injured man was taken to the Mater Hospital. Gardaí have described his injuries as serious.
Meanwhile gardaí are appealing to witnesses to two traffic witnesses which took place in Cork and Dublin yesterday.
The gardai in Bishopstown in Cork are investigating a fatal road accident which occurred there at 11.15am yesterday.
A female pedestrian in her 80's was struck by a jeep while crossing the Melbourn Road. She was taken to Cork University Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Gardaí in Dublin are also investigating a fatal accident on the Chapelizod by-pass which occurred yesterday morning and have appealed for witnesses.
All motorists who travelled westbound on the Chapelizod By Pass and in particular those who were in the vicinity of the Con Colbert Road junction between 7.30am and 8am are asked to contact the Gardaí's Traffic Department.
