Prison officers demand compensation

Northern Ireland prison officers are today staging protests outside jails to demand help from the government after officers' names were found on a suspected IRA list.

The Prison Officers' Association said it aimed to persuade prison management and the British government to properly compensate officers forced to move home to safeguard their security.

Officers' names were found on a laptop computer seized during a police investigation into alleged IRA intelligence gathering at Stormont.
