Real IRA suspect due before Special Criminal Court.

Two Limerick men are due to appear before the Special Criminal Court later this morning in connection with the recovery by gardai of a number of weapons and ammunition earlier this week.

Both men were arrested following a raid on a house at Sarsfield Court, Garryowen last Wednesday.

Gardai seized a Kalashnikov rifle and grenades as well as a quantity of Semtex and other explosives.

One of the men due in court this morning is suspected of being a senior figure in the Real IRA.
