The Labour Party has said it is disappointed with Ireland's support for a UN security council resolution which could pave the way for a US-British war on Iraq.

The resolution, which threatens 'serious consequences' if Iraq fails to comply with weapons inspectors, was passed unanimously by the 15 security council members today.
