The Unilever Corporation has announced plans to close its ice-cream factory in Dublin and lay-off all of the plant's 180 workers.

The Unilever Corporation has announced plans to close its ice-cream factory in Dublin and lay-off all of the plant's 180 workers.

The company said that sales of its HB brand in Ireland were insufficient to keep the Rathfarnam factory viable.

Meanwhile, the Net-G computer firm in Limerick is to lay off 50 employees before the end of this year because of the downturn in the IT sector.
