NI special branch set for overhaul

Northern Ireland’s controversial Special Branch police unit is set for a major overhaul after a new report today called for closer co-operation with top CID officers.

A review carried out by Dan Crompton of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary made 11 recommendations in a bid to ensure greater accountability.
