Garda pleads guilty to corruption in court today

A garda has pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to corruption in relation to a road traffic offence.

A garda has pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to corruption in relation to a road traffic offence.

Seamus Doherty, (aged 41), of Castlefield Lawns, Churchtown admitted he accepted a Ir£500 bribe on December 23, 2000 from a named person so as not to prosecute him under the Road Traffics Acts.

Judge Michael White remanded Doherty on continuing bail for sentence on November 18 next.
