Time most precious commodity for families: survey

A new study has shown that time is the most precious commodity for parents and children in Irish society.

The survey, carried out by leading charity Barnardo's, formed part of its 'Parents under Pressure' campaign - which looks at issues facing families in Ireland today.

Parents and children were asked what was the most important thing for the family.

They had to decide whether time together was more important than more money or a better place to live.

The survey showed time was the overwhelming winner among adults and children.

Up to 84% of adults and 72% of children said they wanted more time together as a family unit, while 11% of adults said money was more important for the household and 5% cited a better place to live top of the list.
