Our Lady's seeks indemnity in organ inquiry

Our Lady's Hospital in Crumlin, Co Dublin has asked the State to indemnify it from all claims coming from parents, before it participates in the Dunne inquiry into the organ retention scandal.

The hospital is also demanding that evidence it gives to the organ inquiry will not be admissible in any future legal proceedings connected to the controversy.

Health Minister Michael Martins says he has no legal authority to give indemnity.
