Court rejects Redmond application

The High Court has turned down an application by the former Dublin Assistant County Manager George Redmond to stop his trial on corruption charges at Dublin City Criminal Court.

Mr Redmond claimed it was impossible for him to have a fair trial because of media coverage of his affairs.

But Mr Justice Kearns said he was not satisfied that there was a real risk of an unfair trial at the Dublin City Criminal Court.
