There is growing optimism that the number of people in Ireland injured by fireworks over Halloween will be significantly less this year.

Medical and security sources have confirmed that there has been a reduction in the number of those injured in firework accidents here so far this year and they attribute this to the drop in supply arising from the change in the law in the North.
