Tanaiste rules out euro price controls

The Tanaiste, Mary Harney, has ruled out the introduction of price controls following widespread customer complaints about significant price rises during and after the euro changeover.

The Tanaiste said that, instead, she hopes to introduce new regulations to ensure prices are displayed in a transparent manner.
