Lyndsey Report on agenda for discussion in Dail today
The Lyndsey Report, which examined the HIV infection of haemophiliacs, is to be discussed in the Dail today.
The report did not blame anyone for the infections, which led to the deaths of 79 people.
Fine Gael Health spokesperson Olivia Mitchell said that having read the report in great detail, she is left with a sense of a blood supply service that was in total disarray.
"It was under-resourced, poorly managed, lacked any chain of command, nobody taking charge, anyone taking responsibility and extremely poor communications," she said.
