Man gets over 10 years for possessing heroin
A Dublin man who had heroin valued some Ir£30,000 in his city centre residence when gardai searched it has been jailed for a total of 10 and a half years by Judge Yvonne Murphy.
Brendan Reilly (aged 38), of Courtney Place, Summerhill pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to having the heroin for sale or supply on December 12, 2001.
Judge Murphy also gave Reilly a six months sentence for having possession of drugs on December 28, 2001. The 10 year term will run consecutive to the six month sentence and both will date from December 12, 2001 when he was taken into custody.
He is currently serving a six year sentence for another drug offence. The court heard that gardai had Reilly under surveillance as a drug dealer for some time and found the heroin when they searched his residence on December 12, 2001.
