Bomb alert in Belfast

There has been a bomb alert in Belfast City centre.

Two armed men hi-jacked a bus in West Belfast this morning, put a package on board and drove the bus to the city hall.

British Army bomb experts are examining the package, along with another suspicious package in Lurgan, Co Armagh.

The alerts come amid reports of a split within the so-called Real IRA after its prisoners said they were withdrawing allegiance from the leadership. A statement from the Real IRA may come later today.
