The Irish Bank Officials Association has said that any new social partnership deal must include a commitment to legislation on trade union recognition.

Speaking at a conference in Belfast, IBOA general secretary Larry Broderick said: "We can't be expected to talk about partnership going forward in a changing environment when employers on a daily basis are trying to undermine and marginalise trade unions.
