Insurers call for action on injury claims

Irish insurers are calling for immediate action on measures to reduce personal injury claims.

Motor insurance costs alone have risen by 41% over the past five years, with an increase of 20% last year.

This is mostly due to excessive personal injury claims.

Premiums for non-life insurance, including motor insurance, went up 20% according to figures just published by Irish Industry Federation.
