Taxi drivers to get €20m compensation pay-out

Taxi drivers are set to get a €20m compensation package following the Government's decision to deregulate the industry, according to reports this morning.

Around 2,000 people sought compensation after the Government decided to abolish limits on the numbers of taxis and significantly devalued lucrative taxi plates which had cost their owners up to €80,000.
