Unions claim they were misled about IFI
Union leaders have claimed they were misled about Irish Fertiliser Industries' viability plan.
Following a meeting to discuss the fallout from the IFI closure, SIPTU's Noel Dowling said they were misled right up until the eleventh hour and will be demanding answers from the Tanaiste when they meet tomorrow morning.
"Our first focus will be to get answers as to why the viability plan put forwards by the management and supported by the workers was rejected," he said.
"Last week Fianna Fail politicians and PD politicians were falling over themselves to come to us and tell us how pleased Mary Harney was with the plan."
Meanwhile the Tanaiste has told the Dail that all the state agencies will be put at the disposal of those who lost their jobs at IFI.
