The British prime minister, Tony Blair, is currently meeting with Sinn Fein representatives, headed by president Gerry Adams, to discuss the growing crisis in the Northern peace process.

Mr Blair is expected to inform Gerry Adams that, to avoid the resignation of the UUP leader, David Trimble, his government will be suspending devolution again within days.
