Cabinet set to discuss organ retention scandal

The report into the organ retention scandal is due to be discussed by cabinet today.

The group representing the families affected is asking for the interim report document to be published.

It is also asking that the Government establish a statutory investigation into organ retention.

Fionnuala O’Reilly of ‘Parents for Justice’ says her group is considering withdrawal from the Dunne inquiry.

“Its report isn't published and if we do not have some feedback as to the direction which this inquiry is going to take I think we will be left with no option but to withdraw from this inquiry in it's present form and structure," she said.
