A man is recovering in hospital after his home was targeted in an early morning bomb attack in Northern Ireland.

A man is recovering in hospital after his home was targeted in an early morning bomb attack in Northern Ireland.

The incident occurred at around midnight this morning when an improvised explosive device was thrown through the window of his house at Festival Road, Portadown.

It caused extensive smoke damage to the house and the man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

A second device was thrown but failed to explode.
