Group urges Govt to establish needle exchange scheme

The Irish Pharmaceutical Union has urged the Government to introduce a needle exchange scheme for intravenous drug users.

The union said a similar scheme in Scotland has led to a marked decrease in the rate of HIV and Hepatitis C infection among addicts.
